Groups

Join our mailing list to know when HomeBody Living is offering a “Playgroups!” HomeBody Living Playgroups are regular gatherings, for a finite or open-ended number of meetings, where embodied experimentation and play in a communal setting allow us to practice healing in community. I call them “playgroups” to remind us to lower the stakes, to play rather than try to control, and to remind us of the transformative and healing potential of making shit up and moving our bodies together.

All HomeBody Living Playgroups are built on a communal foundation of accessibility, consent, and agency as outlined in our community agreements.

Shedding Playgroup:

Guided by the wisdom of creatures who shed their skin, Shedding: Playtime is a gathering space to cultivate toys to support personal and collective embodied healing and liberation. I began creating “shedding” to support my own intense moment of shedding, and to remind myself that the next time I have to shed, I already know how. I’ve always known how, and so do you.

Frolic:

Drawing on years of hosting a weekly improvisational movement party I hosted for many years in Los Angeles for healing and creativity called ‘Sunday Funday’, Contact Improvisation, and traditions of communal movement and improvisation from around the world. ‘Frolic’ is for every body to move towards healing. Improvisation supports our nervous system in connecting to the present moment through spontaneity and play. Movement and improvisation allows us to form new neural connections-literally changing our brains and bodies default settings by awakening curiosity and possibility, and allows us to recognize and cultivate safer connections with others.
